The Wednesday Jan. 31 games in the Juniors Division of the Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association competitions are Xavier School vs. Saint Jude Catholic School, 5:30 p.m., and Grace Christian High School vs. Hope Christian High School, 7:00 p.m.

The Chiang Kai Shek College, led by Bryle Sy and Justin Chua, waylaid St. Stephen’s High School, 70-47, to stay unbeaten in the Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association held over the weekend at the CKSC Gym in Manila.
Led by Sy and Chua, the Dragons used a searing 22-10 run to break away from a tight contest that saw them erect a 52-39 cushion late in the third quarter.

The Xavier School Juniors routed Uno High School 81-63 Wednesday night in the Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association competitions at the Chiang Kai Shek gym.
The game was only close in the first quarter. The Stallions trailed just once, 3-2, before a 6-0 run by Justinn Sze and Goodyeild Chu gave Xavier an 8-3 lead that it never relinquished thereafter. The first half score was 12-7 in favor of Xavier. Coach Lito Vergara’s charges owned a lead of 22 points, 40-18, in the second period but Uno closed out the quarter with six consecutive points to pull within 16 (40-24) at halftime.

Kevin Lee, capping his swashbuckling show, sank a triple with .5 second, lifting UNO High School to a pulsating 70-69 victory over Hope Christian in the 31st Hitachi-Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association at the Chang Kai Shek (CKSC) gym.

The Xavier Juniors team secured its second victory in three starts in the Tiong Lian basketball tournament with an uneventful 65-49 decision over Grace Christian High School in the main game of a doubleheader at the Chiang Kai Shek gym last Saturday (Jan. 20).
