The Country’s Best Pre-Entrep School
Monday, May 14th, 2007As the country struggles to address the unemployment issue, certain sectors of society have been espousing the refocusing of resources to promoting Entrepreneurship. They believe that this is the key to solving the state of joblessness.
Why worry about getting a job when you can be the boss and create jobs for others. “Kumita ka na, nakatulong ka pa!” would be a typical battle cry. This is reminiscent of the age old adage of “trying to teach someone how to fish instead of just giving him fishes since this would feed him for a lifetime.”
Several institutions have tried to ride the bandwagon either for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, for profit, or both. Such entrepreneurial programs/school that have spawn-up in the recent years include AIM’s Master in Entrepreneurship, UA&P’s Entrepreneurial Management Program, and Vivienne Tan’s Entrepreneurs School of Asia (successor of Thames International Business School) to name a few.
