For the third year in a row, reigning champion Chiang Kai Shek (7-0) and Xavier School (7-1) will clash in the Juniors Division finals of the 32nd Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association tournament.

In semifinal matches Wednesday night (Feb. 13) at the Uno gym, top seed CKSC eliminated No. 4 seed St. Jude Catholic School, 77-54, and No. 2 seed Xavier ousted No. 3 seed Uno High School, 94-74, to arrange a titular showdown.

It’s No. 2 seed Xavier School vs. No. 3 seed Uno High School and No. 1 seed and defending champion Chiang Kai Shek vs. No. 4 seed Saint Jude Catholic School in the Juniors Division semifinals of the Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association tournament.

Saturday night (Feb. 9) at the Uno Gym, Xavier crushed No. 7 seed and winless Hope Christian High School for a second time in eight days with a 95-44 decision in their quarterfinal contest.

Xavier School (4-0), bidding to capture its sixth straight title in the Aspirants Division, tries to complete a five-game sweep of the elimination phase when it takes on St. Stephen’s High School (3-1) Sunday Feb. 3.

Chiang Kai Shek (3-1) also tangles with winless Uno High School (0-3) that same day.

Xavier School (5-1) blew out hopeless Hope Christian High School (0-5), 99-55, Friday night in the Juniors Division of the 32nd Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association competitions held at the Uno Gym.

With the lopsided victory, the Golden Stallions formally clinched the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and will meet No. 7 seed Hope Christian once more in the quarterfinals on Saturday February 9 (5:00 p.m.) armed with a twice-to-beat advantage.

Xavier School picked up a pair of easy victories over the weekend in the Juniors Division of the 32nd Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association competitions to clinch the No. 2 seed in the seven-school competitions.

The Golden Stallions, who own a 4-1 record going into their final elimination-round assignment against winless Hope Christian (0-3) on Friday Feb. 1, made mincemeat of host Saint Jude Catholic School in registering a 95-58 win Friday night (Jan. 25) then pulverized Uno High School (3-2), 128-63, Saturday night (Jan. 26) for their fourth straight triumph after a heartbreaking season-opening 79-77 setback to defending champion and unbeaten Chiang Kai Shek (5-0).
